In the state of Michigan, Women under the age of 18 are required to obtain written parental consent OR receive a judicial bypass for an abortion.
What is a Judicial Bypass? If a parent or the legal guardian is not available or refuses to give his or her consent, or if the minor elects not to seek the consent of a parent or the legal guardian, the minor may ask the court for a waiver of parental consent.
No need to worry, Eastland Women’s Clinic will guide you through this process free of charge. Our legal team is at your service at no charge to you and although this sounds like a scary process rest assured you will not be seen in a court room, this is usually handled in a private room in the court building.
